Golden Hills turquoise is some of the rarest turquoise being mined at this time. These stones must be mined in the frigid cold and ice, often referred to lavender turquoise.

The Altyn-Tyube ("Golden Hill" in the Kazakh language) mountain range is located in Kazakhstan about 200 miles South of the Russian border. This is where the original Golden Hill mine is located. Another 200 or so miles South brings us to the more recently discovered Lavender mine. While both produce similar material, the Lavender mine tends to produce more turquoise with spider-webbing. The rough turquoise from both mines tends to get mixed together, so all of the material is generally marketed as Golden Hill turquoise.

The incredible corn flower blue color stands out against other types of turquoise, and is made even more beautiful by the red matrix.

Five cabochons of this beautiful stuff and a handmade link chain with handmade clasp, all set in sterling silver. I try to price my jewelry low and make it affordable, google similar on instagram or eBay and you will see. I’m not creating jewelry to make a living, this is my hobby and I hope one day it will help pay for all my material invested. This piece took a long time to create and I plan on creating more. I would love to see someone get some enjoyment out of it as it is a beautiful statement piece.
Necklace measures 19.5” pointed stone to clasp, larger center drop stone measures approximately 1”.  All set in sterling silver and signed by “roy” my faithful 4 legged friend that’s there every step of the way in creating my pieces.
