Amethyst and Septarian Nodule Pendant

Amethyst with Septarian Nodule Pendant set in sterling silver. The black and white stone is a Septarian Nodule. Septarian Nodules are fossilized mud bubbles that formed between 50 and 70 million years ago. They are composed of calcite, aragonite, and are coated in limestone. Septarian Nodules form in air bubbles which create crystal pockets. 

The combination of minerals create an interesting contrast in color and patten and coupled with amethyst make for a striking statement piece. Septarian Nodules are said to help individuals reach deeper levels of thinking and self understanding. They are said to encourage the desire to problem solve, and clear the mind when cluttered with unimportant things, making them a great stone to meditate with.
